About Us

In the decade or so since MDM Publishing’s fire protection and firefighting magazines were launched, both the fire and rescue industry and the world have changed. New protection and fire fighting techniques have been developed in an endeavour to keep pace with the public’s increasing expectation of greater safety, while the world generally has moved into an unprecedented era of natural and man-made disasters.

This has placed a massive burden on the industry, where legislation is often the driver that is boosting product reliability and performance.   Those in the fire and rescue service, who risk their lives protecting others, have had to develop or refine a whole new skills set to keep pace with the ever more demanding challenges they are asked to face.

So, it is essential that information on changing legislation, new products, developing technology and proven techniques is shared across international boundaries; a task that is uniquely embraced by the three MDM Publishing publications – International Fire Protection, International Fire Fighter and Asia Pacific Fire.

Each magazine stands alone in its particular market sector, avoiding the narrow bias, national boundary or industry-sector focus that predominates among competitive titles. The readers of International Fire Protection and International Fire Fighter span the globe, while Asia Pacific Fire is the world’s only title that has all of its attention focused on this growing and vibrant region.

From Group Editor, Graham Collins

MDM Publishing’s three publications have each carved out unique slots in the fire protection and firefighting industries; so much so that today each is preeminent in its particular sector.  Together, they cover the entire spectrum of fire protection and fire fighting topics on a global basis.

Regularly, each magazine out-performs competitors’ titles in terms of page count and advertising revenue. This enviable status has been achieved by consistently providing readers with information, updates and news not found readily elsewhere in any single publication.  In short, by sharing information with readers that keeps them abreast of the latest techniques and developments. Articles in each of the magazines are written by specialists, many of whom are world renowned in their particular expertise.

To take the magazines to the next level, we have adopted a fresh approach to the editorial content of each magazine. There is a new focus on applications in all three titles, providing greater scope for advertisers and more interest for readers; each edition of International Fire Protection and Asia Pacific Fire will take close look at the new or burgeoning technology, while International Fire Fighter and Asia Pacific Fire put fire and rescue equipment under the spotlight. Other sections of the magazines include dedicated areas devoted to techniques and training.
