False Alarms Exceed Genuine Fires
According to the UK government's latest Fire Statistics Monitor, the number of fire fatalities in England in the six months from April to September 2010 was 140. This is 12 percent fewer than in the same period in 2009, and 27 percent fewer than ten years previous.
