Samples have been sent to a laboratory to determine if sawdust was a possible fuel for the deadly explosion at a sawmill in Burns Lake, British Columbia, Canada, as no cause for explosion at the Babine Forest Products mill has yet been established. Two workers died in the explosion and 19 others were injured.

Three people were initially unaccounted for after a major fire at a hotel in Falmouth, Cornwall in the UK.

Just three months after 29 people were killed in a fire at a drug rehabilitation centre in Lima, Peru, when many were trapped behind the locked iron doors, a similar fire at another centre in the city has taken the lives of a further 14.
